Starting 2019 out right

Which means: I went riding!

2018 had it’s ups and downs, but I got very little riding in, for one reason or another. This really came home when I went to make up a barn Christmas card (which usually includes foals and riding photos) and there were none of either. Oh MY! Foals were because the mares did not cooperate (although 2019 will be much, much better in that regard with 4 future champions coming), but riding…well. I did ride in the arena some.

Me on Gala, in the arena.

That is good, but trail riding is better! I realized I hadn’t gotten out once in 2018, so my New Year’s resolution was to, you guessed it, ride.

Galen and I at Lords Hill on January 2nd. We made it!

I went out January 2nd for a short ride, and that felt so good Monica and I went out January 3rd, bringing Gala along for her first trail ride.

You know you’re a fanatic when it pours your entire ride and you are still grinning. Monica on Gala at Lords Hill.

We have plenty more rides planned, as we’re aiming for the Rare Breeds Show at the Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento, CA May 9-12th. See you there!
